Ebonyi Announces ₦1Billion Palliative, Lifts Ban On Church Services

The Governor Umahi-led Ebonyi State government has approved one billion naira palliative for Ebonyians as the state continues to fight against coronavirus.

This was disclosed in a statement by CAN Chairman/SSA Religious & Welfare Matters, Rev Fr Abraham Nwali on Wednesday evening April 8th, 2020.

The statement also directed that the suspension of Church services be lifted with immediate effect — stating that Worship Services should hold every Sunday between the Hours of 8:00am to 12:00noon.

“All worshippers must ensure compliance to the use of face masks inside and outside the Church, and as well maintain reasonable distance, must comply to handwashing and use of sanitizers”

“Every Church Service must begin by 8am and must concluded by 12noon, every Sunday” said the statement.

“Do not stay beyond 12noon and ensure the observance multiple services to avoid overcrowding (for large congregations).

The statement further added that defaulters will be penalized in accordance with Ebonyi State Coronavirus and other Dangerous Infectious Diseases Law, 2020.
