George Floyd’s death has caused a serious protest in Minneapolis. With buildings being burnt and Malls being looted.

In new videos which have surfaced online, rioters can be seen stripping store shelves bare and making away with goods. They also set fire to stores and tried to break into a bank.

Stores looted include Target, Wendy’s, Walmart and AutoZone. Rioters also sprayed graffiti on the walls of Wendy’s and tried to bust open an ATM, as many ignored pleas from the Floyd family’s lawyer and Minnesota Governor Walz to protest peacefully Wednesday night.

At the Target store near the site of Floyd’s murder, the inside of the store lay in ruins. The shop had been emptied by protesters and the remaining merchandise is seen flung across the floor.

Some protesters wreaked havoc on the police precinct, pushing over barriers and smashing up the site’s windows.

The protests across the city come after George Floyd, a 46-year-old father-of-two, was killed when a police officer knelt on his neck for over 6 minutes while arresting him.

The 4 officers involved in his death have been fired but protesters are calling for them to be prosecuted.

This is at a Target in Minneapolis. ⁣ ⁣ Let me tell you what I think about this. ⁣ ⁣ Target is headquartered in Minnesota. And I think the entire business community there, and all over this country, has benefited from the systems and structures of white supremacy, mass incarceration, and police brutality. ⁣ ⁣ And I think it’s time that Target, and other corporations understand, that when an unarmed, handcuffed man gets lynched by police in broad daylight, that the response will be so fierce, that their stores might get destroyed. ⁣ ⁣ Police brutality is bad for business. That’s what I’m saying. And our people have been pushed too far. With no outlets for justice that seem reliable. ⁣ ⁣ Listen, maybe you love Target. My family shops there. ⁣ ⁣ But I don’t care about the mutibillion dollar Target corporation right now. I care about extra judicial violence against Black people. ⁣ ⁣ And here’s what I know. Corporations could make this shit stop. ⁣ ⁣ Money talks in this country. If Target demanded those 4 officers be arrested tomorrow, they’d be arrested tomorrow.
