An 11-year-old boy, Karon Brown, tragically passed away after he was fatally shot by a man during a fight involving both adults and kids in southeast Washington D.C.
According to sources, during the scuffle, a good Samaritan picked young Karon up off the sidewalk and put him in a vehicle so he could be safe. But then a shirtless, gun-toting man who was involved in the fight ran to the car, aimed at Karon, and opened fire.
The good Samaritan who helped Karon then took him to a fire department nearby to find help for the child. Karon was then taken to a children’s hospital in Prince George’s County, where he was pronounced deceased.
“I forgive you guys for it,” Karon’s mom said, speaking directly to the killer or killers. “I’m not holding grudges. But I’d like you to turn yourselves in. Have remorse for what you did. You took my baby boy away from me.”
The men are still believed to be at large and Karon’s mother fears for her safety.
Mayor Muriel Bowser announced the city has now increased the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer to $50,000.
A vigil for Karon will be held this Tuesday night.
