Imo State deputy governor, Prince Eze Madumere has been impeached after 19 of the 37 members of the Imo House of Assembly voted against him.
This is coming after the assembly received a report by a panel set up by the state chief judge which allegedly indicted Mr Madumere of gross misconduct
Prince Eze Madumere was served an impeachment notice few weeks ago by lawmakers in the state.
However sources claim that the Imo Deputy Governor had a faceo-off with Governor Rochas Okorocha over the latter’s successor in 2019. While Mr Madumere seeks to succeed Mr Okorocha, the governor reportedly supports his son-in-law.
