Tinubu borrowed money to fill the gap for the main time because the treasury was empty – Olusegun

The former governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba said the president of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu borrowed money to fill the gap for the main time because the treasury is empty.

Olusegun Osoba said this while speaking in an interview with Arise TV. He said it while reacting to the claim that the president borrowed money despite removing the subsidy.

He said, “When treasury is empty when the previous administration was borrowing to pay salaries

President Bola Tinubu got in, the whole place was empty. What else can he do than for him to have borrowed money for the main time to fill the gap? That doesn’t mean that the culture of borrowing money will continue forever and ever. He is only seven months in office. He met an empty treasury. There was nowhere to turn to rather than still engage in a little bit of borrowing. After the first year in office, the whole thing will be reviewed and we will see our way through”.
