A skit maker, Eze Odinaka, popularly known as Mama Uka, has said he actually started his entertainment career as a singer before venturing in to skit making.
Odinaka, who recently released a new single titled, Duro Timi, said;
“I have been doing music since 2011. It is just now that I returned to music; to do it in a professional way. At a point I left music, and focused on skit making.”
Describing his style of music, Mama Uka said; “My style of music can be described as slow tempo hip hop, with a blend of afro highlife.
However, I am versatile; and I can do other genres when I want to.”
On the message of the song, he said; “The song is basically about marriage.
It admonishes listeners to make sure that the person they want to be with is worth it; as well as sticking to the vows made to the person.
The song starts with a question, ‘Will you be there for me if I’m down’? ‘Durotimi’ means ‘stay with me’ in Yoruba.”
