Nigerian superstar musician, Wizkid has won big at the 2021 MTV EMAs.
The ‘Essence’ star won the “Best African Act” at the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA).
He defeated colleagues like Tems, Ghanaian artist- Amaarae, Tanzanian artist- Diamond Platnumz and South African hitmaker, Focalistic to win the award.
Big Wiz bagged seven MTV EMAs nominations and effortlessly won three awards. In 2016, he won the Best African Act and Worldwide Act awards.
With this achievement, Wizkid has successfully earned the title of the most awarded African artiste with 3 EMAs, and multiple BETs and MOBOs Awards.
Also, Wizkid and Rema have bagged nominations for the “Best International Act” at the 2021 MOBO International Awards.
The duo also received nominations for the “Best African Act”. Burna Boy, Tems, Ckay, Tiwa Savage, Davido, NSG, King Promise and newbie-Ayra Starr also received nominations under the same category.
