AEDC announces power outage in Abuja

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company has announced an outage in parts of the Federal Capital Territory.

This was contained in a public notice by AEDC on Thursday.

The outage affected Kuje, Galadinmawa, Games Village, Kaduna Garden, and parts of Wuye, Utako, Apo, Garki, Asokoro, Keffi, and Akwanga.

The disco said the outage is due to maintenance exercise by the Transmission Company of Nigeria on Thursday.

“Parts of Gwagwalada, Kuje, Galadimawa, Games Village, Kabusa Garden, Railway, Idu Industrial, and parts of Wuye, Utako, Apo, Garki, Asokoro, Karu, Keffi, and Akwanga. Please be informed that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will be carrying out a maintenance exercise on the 150 MVA 330/132/33 kV transformer TR1 at the Gwagwalada Transmission Station, on the 8th January 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

“This maintenance exercise is part of our continued efforts to enhance service reliability and improve power supply to your community,” AEDC stated.
