Deputy Vice-Chancellor(Administration) of Bayero University, Kano State, Professor Haruna Wakili has passed on.
According to reports, Wakili was also former Director, Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Research and Training (Mambayya House) and Commissioner for Education in Jigawa.
Speaking on the death, Former Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido expressed sadness at the development.

“With total submission to the will of almighty Allah, we lost our own Professor Haruna Wakili Deputy Vice chancellor Administration of Bayero University Kano, former director Bayero University centre of political research, Mumbayya House, former Jigawa state commissioner of Education under Sule Lamido administration.”
“May Jannatul Firdaus be your final abode, Sir.”
Confirming the incident, University Registrar, Hajia Fatima Binta Muhammad, revealed that the varsity don died early on Saturday at National Hospital Abuja after a protracted illness.
