The Chairman of Udala Football Club, Chief Philip Udala, has reportedly been killed by unknown gunmen.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday, when his convoy ran into a team of armed gunmen at Eke-Agu Market junction in Abatete, Idemili North Local Area.
He was set ablaze after bullets fired at him failed to penetrate Members of his convoy were also killed and their vehicles burnt. Reacting to the news, sports journalist, Adepoju Tobi Samuel, said he was heartbroken hearing the news of Chief Udala’s assassination.
He said the news was terrible.
