Ebonyi State government has announced that they have provided palliatives to be shared to the poor and needy in the state.
The palliative is to cushion the damages caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The state’s House of Assembly speaker, Francis Nwifuru took to his Facebook page to make the announcement, revealing that some local governments have picked up their own palliatives.
Hon. Nwifuru wrote,
Ebonyi State has commenced distribution of palliatives to the polling units. The strategy is for the various LGA CT Chairmen to lift their own materials to their respective Councils for onward and easy distribution to the Polling Units, slated for Saturday, July 25th, 2020.
Yesterday and this morning, three LGAs – Afikpo South, Ivo and Onicha lifted theirs. More LGAs from the South and Central are expected to pick up theirs today as well.
The materials are, Rice, Groundnut Oil, Tin Tomatoes, Maggi, Indomie Noodles and Sugar.
We will endeavor to keep you updated as appropriate given that Ebonyi State Government under the steady hands of His Excellency, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi will ensure no area is left untended in this exercise.
Thank you for your continual prayers and support.
Let’s keep it going. God bless you all.
