EFCC shares reason for Bobrisky’s arrest at airport

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has disclosed why it re-arrested controversial social media personality Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, in Lagos on Thursday night.

Bobrisky was apprehended by immigration officers at Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to board a KLM flight to London via Amsterdam.

EFCC spokesman Mr. Dele Oyewale, speaking via telephone on Friday morning, stated that Bobrisky was detained for failing to respond to multiple invitations from the commission.

According to Oyewale, the crossdresser is being investigated over allegations of bribery, specifically claims that he paid N15 million to EFCC officials to dismiss money laundering charges.

The EFCC has refuted these accusations, suggesting Bobrisky may face additional charges for allegedly providing false information.
