#EndSARS Campaign Is Back (See Why)

The popular #EndSARS campaign is back online, and has already gathered over 200,000 tweets on Twitter.

The hashtag got millions of tweets and mentions on social platforms a few weeks ago as Nigerians called on the federal government to end the Special Anti-Robbery Squad after reports of misconduct by the police department.

Though the peaceful protest was hijacked by hoodlums who turned it to something disastrous, the Nigerian government promised to make sure officers of the law who played part in police brutality are legally punished – a promise which is yet to be fulfilled, sadly.

Nigerians have taken to social platforms to start the campaign again after reports had it that the police wants the Judicial panels which were set up by the federal government, scrapped.
