Ex BBNaija Housemate Rico Swavey Laid To Rest In Lagos

The remains of former Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, reality TV show star, Patrick Fakoya, popularly known as Rico Swavey, were laid to rest on Thursday, in Lagos amid eulogies.

In his sermon during the funeral service at the Methodist Church of the Trinity, Tinubu Square, the officiating priest, while comforting the deceased family, stated that “the Lord gives and the Lord taketh.”

The season 3 housemate succumbed to the cold hands of death at age 30, after involving in a ghastly car accident that left him on life support from Tuesday, 11 to Thursday, 13 of October, 2022.

Swavey was buried at the Ebony Vaults in Ikoyi Lagos, as relatives and friends could not hold back their tears.

The burial was attended by majority of BBNaija stars.

His management had, before his death, announced that he was on life support.

This was shortly after a fundraiser was launched in his name to facilitate his treatment.

A heated backlash had trailed some nurses in the hospital where Swavey died after footage of his last moments surfaced on social media.

Some of his fans had accused the staff of Doren Specialist Hospital in Lagos of recording the footage but the facility dismissed the allegations.
