FCT Police Dismiss Alleged Terror Attack on UNIABUJA as Fake News

According to reports from DAILY POST, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted circulating rumours of an alleged plan by terrorists to attack and abduct students from the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) campus.

This clarification was issued on Saturday, September 28, 2024, following heightened concerns among students and residents in the area.

The alleged threat had sparked tension and fear on campus, fueled by unverified reports circulating on social media and other online platforms.

Students, parents, and residents have expressed anxiety over the safety of the university community, prompting a swift response from the authorities to address the situation.

Reacting to the reports, the FCT Command, through its spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, dismissed the claims as “nothing but baseless publications propagated by rumour mongers aiming to create unfounded panic and apprehension among FCT residents and university community.”

She urged the public to disregard the rumours, emphasizing that no credible intelligence supports the claims of an impending terrorist attack on the university.

She assured that the police are taking all necessary measures to ensure the continued safety of students, staff, and residents around the university.
