The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced an upward review of passport fees, a move aimed at ensuring the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.
Effective from September 1, 2024, the revised fees will see the cost of the 32-page passport booklet with a five-year validity increase from ₦35,000 to ₦50,000.
Similarly, the 64-page passport booklet with a ten-year validity will now cost ₦100,000, up from the previous ₦70,000.
This adjustment in fees, however, does not apply to Nigerians living abroad, as the government has decided to keep passport fees for the diaspora unchanged.
The Nigeria Immigration Service, in response to the potential concerns raised by this increase, expresses regret for any inconvenience it may cause.
Nonetheless, they reassured the public of their unwavering commitment to transparency and the continuous delivery of quality services.
