Former Governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano has reportedly died in a London hospital, according to Sahara Reporters.
According to Sahara Reporters, Obiano passed away after battling “severe heart failure and complications related to urinary cancer.”
His personal publicist, Mr. Tony Nezianya, told DAILY POST that he had not received any such news.
He said: “I can’t confirm to you; I’m not aware of such news.”
Obiano served as governor of Anambra State from 2014 to 2022, succeeding Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
Born on August 8, 1955, Obiano hailed from Aguleri in the Anambra East Local Government Area.
