Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, alongside the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Francis Nwifuru have commissioned a 150-bed General Hospital, Elinwobvu in Amegu, Abakaliki Local Government of Ebonyi State.
According to Fidelis Nwjfuru, the hospital is one of the results of His Excellency’s promise of upgrading the 13 General Hospitals in each Local Government Area of the State in ensuring that the fight against coronavirus is won.
Sharing the news on his Facebook page, he wrote:
I was glad to have joined His Excellency, Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi, Governor of Ebonyi State, yesterday, to commission the 150-bed General Hospital, Elinwobvu in Amegu, Abakaliki Local Government of Ebonyi State.
The reconstruction and equipping of the hospital is one of the results of His Excellency’s promise of upgrading the 13 General Hospitals in each Local Government Area of the State, to ensure that quality medical services trickle down to rural areas especially for the treatment of COVID-19 in the State.
Overseeing the EXCO committee on this project, we ensured that all types of equipment – suction machines, oxygen concentrators and cylinders, ambu bags, stretchers, blood pressure machines, operating theatre equipments, mobile x-ray machine, ultra-sound machine, and so on, were provided.
Many congratulations to us all and well done to the renovation committee chaired by Mrs Ann Aligwe.
