Renowned Nigerian businessman, Femi Otedola has penned an heartfelt congratulatory message to the Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote on the monumental achievement of launching the first fuel shipment from the Dangote Refinery.
The refinery, which has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s energy sector, a vision that Otedola and Dangote shared over two decades ago.
Otedola in his congratulatory message extend his congratulations to President Bola Tinubu, acknowledging his unwavering support that was instrumental in realizing Dangote refinery’s dream.
“This day belongs to every Nigerian who has dared to dream of a better future,” Otedola wrote.
Reflecting on their shared journey, Otedola recalled the challenges they faced 25 years ago when they first set out to transform Nigeria’s energy landscape through the Blue Star Consortium.
Despite their initial setbacks, including the government’s cancellation of their stakes in the Kaduna and Port Harcourt refineries, Otedola lauded Dangote’s persistence; “You never gave up on the dream we shared.
“You carried the torch forward, igniting a spark that has today become a roaring flame.”’
The billionaire business mogul’s message further shed light on the stark contrast between the dormant state of the Kaduna and Port Harcourt refineries and the success of the Dangote Refinery.
