Despite widespread demands for a post-mortem examination, preparations are underway to inter the remains of Mary Habila, a 26-year-old physical therapist whose unclothed corpse was discovered at the home of Works Minister David Umahi.
Widely referred to as Mara, the deceased was reportedly employed as the minister’s private physical therapist.
Under suspicious conditions, she allegedly passed away on June 27, 2026, at Umahi’s property located in Uburu, Ebonyi State.
Responding to the announcement of her upcoming funeral, numerous citizens urged the federal authorities to probe the matter, citing comparable accusations previously leveled against the politician.
Nevertheless, even as law enforcement agents work to decipher the events leading to Habila’s demise, her relatives have declared Friday, July 17, 2026, as the day she will be laid to rest.
This situation has sparked further controversy, prompting internet users to demand a clear and impartial inquiry into the tragedy, especially in light of the details stating she was discovered unclothed within the politician’s home.
Responding to the disputed event on the X platform, an individual asserting to hail from the minister’s home state alleged that Umahi is associated with numerous accounts of individuals perishing under his control.
@Blue Cheese commented, “You all are unaware of who this person is. Within Ebonyi State, there are multiple accounts of individuals losing their lives because of him.”
Echoing similar sentiments, @George Freeman stated, “Numerous females have been vocal on the internet regarding sexual misconduct by Dave Umahi, yet citizens refuse to treat their claims with gravity.
