There was panic at a mall in Ring road, Ibadan, Oyo State on Sunday, July 25, after a police officer allegedly shot dead a student of Ibadan Polytechnic, identified as Tunde.
According to multiple reports, the incident occurred in the evening when the deceased and his friend were allegedly caught smoking weed by police officers attached to the mall.
“One of the police officers held his friend and Tunde ran away and was about to jump a fence, when the policeman shot at him twice.
The bullets hit him on his laps and he died instantly. The police officers ran away after seeing the havoc they had wreaked. This caused an outrage and soldiers were deployed to salvage the situation.
This happened few hours after Tunde signed out from his school.
