‘Solving Nigeria’s economic problems not like healing sick people’ – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday, said solving Nigeria’s economic problem is not like healing somebody who is sick.

Wike made the remark in Abuja during his induction into the Idoma Hall of Fame.

The Minister also highlighted the positive effect of fuel subsidy removal in Nigeria.

According to Wike: “We are only talking about the area that the government has not covered but nobody has talked about the removal of that subsidy what it has done for the people.

“Before now in this country, NULGE is on strike everyday, teachers are on strike, there is no session that you won’t find a university on strike.

“But look at the past three years, you don’t hear of strike anymore, you don’t hear of NULGE strike, pensioners no longer talking about strike.

“We are only concentrated on the high cost of living which we agree but all can’t be solved at the same time, there are some that will take a long time.

“Solving the problem of the economy is not like healing somebody that is sick, it’s not so.”
