Tears Flow As Lagos State Govt Demolishes Illegal Structures In Ikota (Video)

The Lagos State Government has continued the demolition of illegal structures built on canals and drainage setbacks at the Ikota drainage channel.

Most of the people affected couldn’t hold back their tears.

A video posted on the X handle of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Jubril Gawat, revealed the moment another structure was being pulled down.

He captioned the video;

“Ongoing: Enforcement of demolition order served to occupants of illegal structures built on canals and waterways along Gedegede – Mobil road- Megabond Estate – Ikota drainage channels.”

According to the state’s Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the ongoing operation is to reduce the flooding and allow free flow of water along the drainage channel.
