‘VDM will face the law for posting Tinubu’s fake audio’ – Presidency vows

The Presidency on Wednesday vowed to prosecute Nigerian social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, VDM, for allegedly sharing fake audio of President Bola Tinubu.

cliq.ng reports that a post by an X user, @Pious_minister showed when an AI generated audio of the President was played in VDM’s video.

The audio captured Tinubu’s voice, saying that the insecurity in Nigeria would continue because Nigerians didn’t vote for him in 2023.

Reacting, Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga in a post on his official X handle, said the VDM would be made to face the full weight of the law.

He wrote, “This VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tinubu.

“This is a clear case of an egregious abuse of the social media platform”.

However,DAILY POST reports that VDM has no such audio in his videos.
