On Friday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, stated that individuals providing information to bandits in the region have been apprehended.
Channels TV stated that the minister revealed this information while participating in a town hall meeting held in Gwagwalada, Abuja, with the area council chairman, traditional leaders, security personnel, and residents.
While he didn’t specify the quantity of individuals detained or the location of the arrest, he reassured Gwagwalada residents not to worry, promising enhanced security in the Federal Capital Territory in the days ahead.
Upon receiving complaints from residents about insufficient security personnel in the vicinity, the minister directed the police commissioner to promptly set up two additional police divisions in the Gwagwalada area council.
Minister Wike is visiting the area council for the second time in a row to engage with the populace and give solutions to put an end to the country’s capital’s insecurity.
