Wike missing as Ribadu, Gbajabiamila, other officials receive Tinubu at Abuja airport

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, was conspicuously missing from the line up of officials that received President Bola Tinubu back to Abuja at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Saturday night.

Cliq.ng reports that after attending the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, where the President witnessed the signing of a trade agreement between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, he returned to Abuja on Saturday.

Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and other officials welcomed the President at the airport.

However, the FCT minister, who is usually among officials at the airport to receive the President when returning from trips, was absent.

Wike’s absence has triggered concerns amongst social media users.

While the President was away, the minister toured the 23 local government areas of Rivers State for 17 days before returning to Abuja.
