Anambra PDP guber candidate shot in Abuja, Police launch investigation

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has launched investigation into a reported attack on the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the forthcoming Anambra State election, Jude Ezenwafor.

DAILY POST recalls that Ezenwafor survived an assassination attempt on his life in Abuja on Friday night when gunmen suspected to be assassins attacked and shot him.

Ezenwafor was subsequently admitted in an undisclosed private hospital in the nation’s capital for medical treatment.

Reports of the Anambra PDP candidate’s death had emerged online on Sunday.

However, DAILY POST gathered that Ezenwafor is currently battling for life.

When contacted, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh told DAILY POST that the command had launched an investigation into the incident.

She, however, said the “true position and situation surrounding the incident” cannot be ascertained at the moment.
