Political affairs analyst Jerry Chukwueke has stated that supporters of 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, popularly known as ‘Obidients’, are loyal to individuals rather than political parties.
Chukwueke made the remarks on Friday during an interview on Channels Television.
He stated that, “Obidients actually don’t follow parties; they follow individuals. It’s about where they perceive a performer is in place to deliver transformation,” Chukwueke said.
His statement came while he was commenting on public expectations from the newly appointed chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, whose appointment was confirmed by the Senate on Thursday.
