The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has reacted to the allegation that he revoked plots of land belonging to Mr. Peter Obi and 162 others in the FCT.
He clarified that he’s not witch-hunting anybody as he emphasized that the primary concern is addressing crime being perpetrated through the use of uncompleted construction projects.
He argued that criminals often exploit such unfinished structures because they can evade identification easily. He also pointed out that it’s difficult to determine the owners of these plots.
He said in an interview with Channels TV:
”Let me tell you the issues of giving notices about the continuation of plot. So many people give readings to everything.
We are talking about crime. You know most of these uncompleted projects are where you see criminals. They take advantage when they attack, they have no house where you can go and locate them.
And I don’t know which plot is owned by whom, all I said is in other to fight crime and change the landscape of the city. We will not allow uncompleted buildings. Therefore those who have building, go now and start completing the building.”
