Rio Ferdinand reacts as Man United knocks Arsenal out of FA Cup

Rio Ferdinand Tells Man United To Sign Ighalo On Permanent Basis

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has reacted to their penalty victory over Arsenal in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.

The game ended 1-1 at 90 minutes and extra time, with United clinching the FA Cup third-round win on penalties.

Due to the absence of VAR, there were controversies here and there with the bone of contention coming in the 69th minute when Harry Maguire was deemed to have tackled Kai Havertz in the box.

Referee Andy Madley pointed to the spot in favour of the home team.

However, Altay Bayindir stopped Martin Odegaard’s penalty. He also saved Havertz’s effort during the shootout.

After the game, Rio Ferdinand shared his reaction on X (formerly Twitter).

“Another battling performance… desire, willingness to fight as a team! ManUtd. Bet the ref’s gutted,” Ferdinand wrote.

He added another tweet. “Have that!”

Manchester United took the lead through Bruno Fernandes in the 52nd minute.

However, Diogo Dalot was shown a second yellow card after lunging into a tackle on Mikel Merino in the 61st minute.

Soon enough, Arsenal equalised through defender, Gabriel Magalhaes in the 63rd minute.

Martin Odegaard had the opportunity to kill the game and send his team to the 4th round, but missed from the spot.
