Sheikh Gumi reacts as US forces launch missile attack against terrorists in Sokoto

Controversial Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has reacted after US president Donald Trump launches missile attack against terrorists in Sokoto.

In a post on Facebook, he stated that annihilating terrorists is an Islamic obligation, citing the Prophet’s wish to annihilate them. He referenced a Hadith from Al-Bukhari and Muslim, emphasizing that this should be carried out by clean and holy hands, not by another terrorist. He criticized Nigeria for allowing terrorists to fight each other, stating that terrorists don’t fight terrorists, but instead kill innocent people, and suggested that Nigeria seek military assistance from countries like China, Turkey, and Pakistan.

Sheikh Gumi warned against US involvement in Nigeria, citing concerns about imperial tendencies and polarization, and urged Nigeria to halt military cooperation with the US. He called on villages affected to upload videos and pictures of casualties, implying that the terror is manufactured and sustained by those claiming to fight it. He described the attacks as a neo-Crusade war against Islam and questioned the motives behind the attack on Sokoto.
